You might notice things look a little different around here... because TPA got a makeover! Since starting this blog five months ago, I've been prayerfully considering it's purpose and what TPA's future looks like. It was a dream of mine for so long, and I want that dream to be confident and authentic for you.
You may have noticed on my social media and on the "WHO" page this line: "Sharing joy in the simplest ways." That is the simplified version of my mission statement, which is this...
TPA shares joy in the simplest ways to show that it doesn’t take having the “perfect” life to express goodness to yourself and to those around you.
What that means is:
1. Life is about sharing the joy found in Christ with yourself and others.
2. That life isn't perfect.
I am a creative person, and very visually driven (AKA, I like things to look nice). I pour over Martha Stewart and Real Simple magazines. I fall in love with Rifle Paper Co.'s color schemes and illustrations. My job requires to me to think about aesthetic details, and give people a usable, engaging experience visually. The way that translates into my every day life is that life is beautiful, even in it's imperfections.
It is my joy to share with you simple ways you can see that beauty for yourself. Whether it's making your home an inviting environment, finding something in your closet that makes you feel authentically yourself, or creating the perfect gift to show a loved one you care, That's Pretty Ace is there to inspire you and encourage you. I have some big goals for 2014, because 2014 is about making things happen and conquering fears (thanks, Lara Casey! Unending motivation).
The rebrand reflects TPA's authenticity, approachable nature, and joyful approach to life. You'll notice there is some new content in the sidebar to the left, and even a new app icon if you refresh it on your phone! I'll also be rolling out some fun new columns this month. We are starting this year big and bright! I hope you enjoy, and happy 2014!
(And special thanks to Taylor, for the gorgeous pictures! And awkward dancing gifs...)
