Sunday marks our first anniversary, and it couldn't have been a more exciting year. Since last June, Chris has finished his 2nd year of law school, I got a new job, we moved down the street, we got plugged into a home group, we became members at The Village Church, and we've made so many wonderful new friends. But the biggest change has been how close we've grown to God. This season has been challenging in the best kinds of ways, and our hearts are constantly being molded and shaped to look more like Christ's. He's been showing us over and over that He can satisfy our needs, that He can provide for us in every way, and that His way is so much better than any plans we could dream up. We've learned some hard lessons, and have been made better for it.
"But encourage one another daily... so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness."
This verse in particular rings true for one of the major things we've learned this year... that regardless of how we may feel each day when we wake up, we need to be encouragers to one another. We are each other's greatest supporters. If we don't keep encouraging, keep challenging, keep pursuing one another, it's so easy for us to fall into our own selfish lies. It's definitely not easy... but our relationship has blossomed so much because of it. God often shows me new things to love and appreciate about Chris, and it's so wonderfully humbling.
Chris, I cannot thank you enough for being the man that you are. The drive you have to care for me and for others astounds me, and spurs me on to do the same. You are so gentle and kind, and your leadership is strong and calm. Even on days where you've felt lost, you've still managed to guide me and love me well. I'm so proud of you, and I'm honored to be your wife. (And a special thanks for being the best karaoke partner!) I'm so excited to see where the Lord takes you, and in turn takes us! Love you so much more than words could ever say.
Sending you all off with a little Flashback Friday... hope you have a great weekend! Enjoy loads of curly hair.
