31 Bits Party

A few weeks ago, my mom and I hosted a fun jewelry party – one that not only brought together women for a great morning of fellowship, but also helped to seek justice. It was such an honor getting to share the mission of 31 bits with our family and friends!

31 bits works with beneficiaries in Uganda to create fashionable, quality products. These Ugandan women earn a steady income enabling them to support their families, and they receive counseling, health education, finance training, and even business mentorship. After five years in the beneficiary programs, these women get to graduate and have their own business. Their whole lives are turned around, and women are healthy, educated, and confident.

The jewelry itself is made out of rolled paper (yes, paper!) that is recycled and dyed. I personally own the coral and blue necklace in the image above and it's held up very well – these sweet Ugandan women make incredibly strong products :)

It was such a joy getting to share these products with our loved ones, and we really enjoyed seeing them get excited – this stuff is so cute! Shown here is their summer line, which is nearly all gone now, but the ladies at 31 bits just launched their fall collection... and it is dreamy. This necklace is especially cool.

If you're interested in hosting a house party of your own, it's incredibly easy to do! You fill out a form and submit it on the 31 bits website. The girls will get back to you and send you a box of product for your party. All you have to do is collect the money and send it back – you can even keep the box for a few weeks and let more of your friends shop from it! Then send it all back to their office in California. If you sell over a certain amount, you get credit towards something of your own (we sold enough that I got to keep that gorgeous coral necklace as a gift)! The girls are so sweet and such a dream to work with. I'd highly recommend trying it out. We made mimosas and picked up some pastries and fruit and made a day of it. It was great getting to catch up with old friends in my sweet mom's house (isn't her home gorgeous? totally Pinterest-worthy!). If you're looking to host a little gathering of your own, you can grab the form to do that right here... it really is such a unique (and fun) way to support women across the globe.
